Cycladic fairyland: Serifos, Sifnos and Milos

CYCLP0006

Highlights by
Kélifos

  1. Three very original islands and less popular than other islands of the Cyclades
  2. Beautiful hikes, superb beaches, and welcoming taverns
  3. The sweetness of life "in Greek style", every evening at the stage

3 travellers have added this tour to their selection

Here are three islands wonderfully adjusted to the walker's step. Three islands that complement each other perfectly: so different while being close to each other.
From Serifos with the awe-inspiring beauty of the Chora side to Milos, sculpted by volcanic eruptions of the past, passing through Sifnos and its magnificent network of hiking trails in enchanting mountain valleys. But there is not only hiking in this stay: let's talk about the Aegean Sea which shades the endless blues, the dream beaches, and coves which are so many urgent calls for swimming and the tavern terraces for a moment of relaxation after the effort in the warm atmosphere of the "Greek" way of life. By discovering Serifos, Sifnos, and Milos, one could not dream of a better introduction to the Cyclades archipelago, which some describe as the most beautiful in the Mediterranean.

The bay of Livadi, where we dock, is magnificently dominated by Chora, the capital of the island, one of the most typical and endearing Cycladic villages. Stroll to the edge of the dazzling white village, down picturesque stairs and alleys, before returning to your hotel near a beach with crystal clear waters. Overnight in Serifos.

Then you will leave on foot for the longest stage of the week, to discover a valley at the foot of beautiful slopes, passing by the chapel of Stavros, to the forgotten villages of the island: Kendarchos, Galani, and Panagia. You might be lucky enough to be able to visit the fortified Taxiarchon Monastery (16th century) if the solitary monk who lives there is available. Return to Chora by the mountain before a sumptuous descent on a paved path taken by the workers of the iron mines of Serifos. Descent by bus or on foot to the bay of Livadi.

Weather

The climate of the islands is Mediterranean, that is to say, hot and dry in summer and mild and rainy in winter, but with significant differences depending on the regions and archipelagos. The Cyclades regularly suffer from lack of rain and during the beautiful season, which lasts here almost 6 months, precipitation is scarce or even completely absent from the end of May to the beginning of October. The Cyclades also benefit from relatively cool summers (for Greece) thanks to the famous "Meltem", a seasonal wind which during the summer season pleasantly refreshes the atmosphere, but which sometimes gets carried away to the point of immobilizing the boats in the port. for a few hours.
